About Us
Dr. Grant BoaDr. Boa graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1973. He initially owned Guelph Animal Hospital but moved to Waterloo in 1987 to buy Beechmount Animal Hospital. Currently he divides his time between the clinic and his farm, populated by many horses, 2 Golden Retrievers and a cat named Doris Gas-Can. |
Dr. Jill BlathwaytDr. Blathwayt graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994. She started her career in a mixed animal practice in Picton, worked briefly in Calgary and then returned home to Ontario to work at Beechmount Animal Hospital in 1997. She spends her waking hours catering to the ever increasing needs and demands of her cats Piggy Louise, Taz and David Puddy. |
Dr. Lorna MantleDr. Mantle graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1981. She started working part time at Beechmount Animal Hospital in 2006 and is kept busy working at several other clinics in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. She still finds time to look after her pets as well as the various waifs and strays that find their way into her life. Last summer her pond was occupied by 8 orphaned ducklings rescued from a storm drain. |
Veterinary TechniciansStacey graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Seneca College in 1997 and has been working at Beechmount Animal Hospital ever since. Although allergic to cats, this hasn't stopped her from adopting one! Poppy came to us through the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society. It appeared that she had been bitten by a dog and was having trouble using her back legs. After some time in the hospital for medication and rest, her condition greatly improved and she was able to go to her new home. Kelly graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Ridgetown College in 1998. She spent one year working at the Laboratory animal facility at Laurier University before coming to work full time at Beechmount Animal Hospital in 2001. She also works the occasional shift at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Cambridge. Kelly recently bought a hobby farm and her energies have been directed towards a flock of persnickety free range chickens. Kelly rounds out her household with 2 dogs, 2 horses and a trio of cats. |
Reception staffTanya worked as a receptionist at North Town Veterinary Hospital for two years before moving to Waterloo and joining us in 2006. Andrea joined the Beechmount team in May 2007 and had previous experiences at both a vet clinic and doctors office. Outside of work, Andrea can usually be found at the barn riding horses or spending time with her cats Maddie and Reese. |
Kennel SupervisorWe were lucky to have Lisa join our team in 2005, but the animals were even luckier! You can rest assured that when your pet comes to the hospital whether it be for a bath, boarding or treatment, that he or she will be comfortable and receive the best care. When not reassuring our canine and feline friends, Lisa can be found camping in the great outdoors. Rain, shine or snow, nothing seems to stop her! |
