Beechmount Animal Hospital

Ensuring that every member of your family lives a healthy life.

Diagnostics

Our in house diagnostics include radiography, blood work, urinalysis, and fecal flotations. We have several excellent board certified veterinarians who come on site to provide ultrasonography and endoscopy services.

Surgery

Surgery is a daily occurrence at Beechmount Animal Hospital. When most people think of surgery for their pets, they think of spays, neuters and declawing. While we do these procedures routinely, we also do many other surgeries such as orthopedics, cruciate ligament stabilization, tumour removal and soft tissue surgery.

Dentistry

A clean and pain free mouth is an important contributor to your pet's overall health. We recommend and perform dentistry regularly. Dentistry is a day procedure which involves an anesthetic to allow for proper scaling and polishing of the teeth. Each tooth is checked for evidence of periodontal disease. When periodontal disease is significant and irreversible, teeth may be extracted. Recovery is usually uneventful and by the next day your pet is back to feeling normal.

Boarding

Beechmount Animal Hospital offers full service boarding for our patients including those with special needs. We have 5 runs to accommodate large dogs and many cages for small dogs and cats. There are no outdoor runs, but dogs are walked 2 - 3 times daily.

We'll provide your pet with blankets, towels and dishes during their stay. If you prefer your pet may stay on his or her own diet. If so, we ask that you please bring it along. Feel free to bring along any special toys or blankets to remind your pet of home.

Please also note that for the protection of your pets, we require that all animals are up to date on vaccinations including Bordetella [Kennel Cough] for dogs.

Bathing

Although we do not have a groomer on staff, we do offer bathing for our patients. A bath includes a brush-out or de-matting, a nail trim and anal sac expression.

We also offer a "Lion-Cut" for our longer haired feline patients that are prone to matting. This involves shaving your cat fairly short, but leaving the head, neck and tail long. This may or may not require sedation depending on the nature of the cat.
